250th Anniversary Celebration – Join Us
Join us at Buckhorn Park on June 27 from Noon to 4 PM as we celebrate our country’s 250th Anniversary while also helping raise awareness and support for Second Chance SPCA and the wonderful work they do for local animals in need.
This relaxed, family-friendly neighborhood event will feature a car show, music, games and prizes for all ages, a kids’ bike parade, hot dogs and refreshments, dog nail clipping by Zoomin Groomin, and our special guest Hollywood Feed. Second Chance SPCA will also be joining us with adorable puppies visiting throughout the afternoon, giving neighbors an opportunity to learn more about the shelter, meet some of the animals they care for, and support their mission.
Come spend time with neighbors and friends, relax, and enjoy the celebration together. Feel free to bring lawn chairs or a blanket for extra comfort.
Hotdogs and refreshments will be provided free of charge. Donations to support the animals and lifesaving work of Second Chance SPCA are greatly appreciated are warmly welcomed.

We Need Volunteers – Can You Help?

The WELLS PLANO group on nextdoor.com is comprised of Parkway Estates, Whiffletree I-IV, Carriage Hills, and Kimberlea subdivisions. If you are not yet a member, go to nextdoor.com and join.

- Go to the website: www.nextdoor.com
- Enter your residential street address and email address (note that a PO Box is not accepted)
- Select FIND YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD. You will automatically be assigned to your neighborhood
- Fill in all of the required fields
- Click SIGN UP
- Finally, verify your address and email address (You will receive an email from nextdoor.com containing a link to verify that this really is "you" who submitted the request)
You can also request to join the "WHIFFLETREE GROUP", which allows you to view and post items to only our neighborhood. To join this group:
- If you are using the nextdoor app, then tap MORE from the bottom menu and then tap GROUPS from the menu.
- If you are NOT using the nextdoor app, then on the left side of the nextdoor.com page, look for a subtitle called GROUPS and click on ALL GROUPS. This will show the groups that have been established within our area
- You can REQUEST to join various groups that are listed on this page.

About Whiffletree I-IV Neighborhood Association
There are numerous Whiffletree neighborhoods in Plano, Texas. However, the Whiffletree I-IV Neighborhood Association (WNA) is a residential subdivision comprised of 459 homes and is located near Buckhorn Park and Wells Elementary School, which is between Coit Road and Independence Pkwy; South of Spring Creek Pkwy and North of Parker Road.
Any resident of the Whiffletree I-IV neighborhood can become a member of the Neighborhood Association. It doesn't matter if you are renting or if you own your home. We welcome all residents. Neighborhood Association membership dues are only $15 per year per household and the benefits of membership are numerous.
Besides adding to the quality of life for the residents of WNA, a strong and active neighborhood association helps to ensure an awareness of issues which may affect our property values and safety. We hope you will join us in keeping WNA one of the very best neighborhoods in Plano. We also want to formally welcome all new residents and hope each of you finds caring neighbors and a friendly atmosphere that add so much to the quality of life here in Whiffletree I-IV.

Watering Guidelines
for Apr 1 - Oct 31
Plano residents and businesses are asked to only water a maximum of twice per week from April 1 to October 31.
- Homes with addresses ending in odd numbers (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) – Operate sprinklers on Tuesdays and Fridays
- Homes with addresses ending in even numbers (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) – Operate sprinklers on Mondays and Thursdays
The City of Plano also recommends that we follow these guidelines as well:
- Only water when needed and only on your assigned watering days. You may not need to water if rain is in the forecast. Subscribe to WaterMyYard.org for weekly watering recommendations.
- Watering with sprinklers between 10 am and 6 pm is prohibited, as these are the hottest hours of the day.
- Foundations and landscaping, including grass, shrubs and trees, may be watered for up to 2 hours any day by a hand-held hose or soaker hose.
- Low-flow drip irrigation systems may operate as needed.
- Excessive water runoff and watering during rain is prohibited.
- A variance may be requested to water new landscapes for up to 30 days. Read the Water Variance Procedures (PDF) for instructions. Variances are not required for filling pools.

Association Membership Dues ($15/year)
To Pay by Check
Your membership supports our neighborhood events and entitles you to a copy of the annual Whiffletree I-IV Neighborhood Directory. Checks should be payable to "WNA" in the amount of $15/year and mail to Pat Nelson, 3904 Mission Ridge, Plano TX 75023.
